The UK National Lottery’s designated successor, Allwyn, has named a new head of security. Boasting a robust cybersecurity background, Mark Hughes will officially join Allwyn’s ranks on the first of February.
Hughes’ latest post was Chief Information Security Officer at Smart DCC, a firm crucial to the UK’s smart meter deployment. Before that, he dedicated 16 years to Vodafone UK, ultimately ascending to the role of Head of Corporate Security. His vast expertise encompasses cooperation with UK governmental bodies and intelligence services on security measures.
Allwyn UK’s CEO, Andrea Gisle Joosen, stressed the paramount significance of safety as the company updates and transitions the National Lottery to a digital platform. She extended a warm greeting to Hughes upon his addition to the staff.
Allwyn has designated a new Head of Security, Hughes. He will be the point person tasked with ensuring everything remains secure – we’re referring to data, the gaming systems, and even physical protection. It’s a significant role, guaranteeing the National Lottery is shielded from any risks.
