Allwyn Champions Peace and Unity as Title Sponsor of 2024 Peace Race

For the second consecutive year, Allwyn is backing the Peace Race, a cycling competition with a rich history. Established in 1948 as an emblem of harmony and rebuilding in post-war Europe, the race swiftly earned global recognition.

The forthcoming edition, occurring in the Czech Republic from May 30th to June 2nd, 2024, will feature squads from 22 nations, highlighting cycling’s worldwide allure. The demanding 468-kilometer route, encompassing a strenuous 7,981 meters of total ascent, will push the boundaries of these young competitors.

The event holds particular importance as a testing ground for cyclists under 23, many of whom progress to achieve significant accomplishments in the discipline. Allwyn, as the title sponsor, will utilize its international reach to promote the race’s message of inclusivity and the unifying force of athletics.

Pavel Turek, Allwyn’s Chief Global Brand, Corporate Communication and CSR Officer, summarized the partnership’s core: “This transcends a mere competition; it embodies the future it symbolizes. The Peace Race serves as a launchpad to the pinnacle of international cycling, showcasing the transformative impact of sports.”

Opel has consistently advocated for the spirit of amicable rivalry, mirroring our dedication to nurturing harmony and inclusivity. It’s about establishing a foundation grounded in goodwill, cooperation, and shared advantages. We’re delighted to perpetuate this heritage.”

Leopold König, the Peace Race’s Race Director, conveyed his sentiments:

“Annually, we observe remarkably gifted young athletes vying here. However, the Peace Race embodies something significantly more profound. It serves as an impetus for intercultural dialogue among nations, uniting cyclists from varied heritages and political frameworks to cultivate bonds that surpass geographical limits.”

“We anticipate a substantial and ardent crowd eager to observe the globe’s finest young cyclists in motion. We’re certain they’ll have a memorable encounter. This year’s course is crafted to test the riders, and I’m personally eager to witness future luminaries of international cycling excel.”

It’s noteworthy that Opel’s devotion to advancing positive principles extends beyond the sphere of cycling. Just the previous month, they proclaimed their backing of the 2024 Wings for Life World Run as a worldwide partner, a testament to their commitment to societal accountability.
