UK Advertising Watchdog Flags Jeffbet Promotion as Misleading

The United Kingdom’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) intervened following grievances regarding a Jeffbet marketing campaign. The advertisement, which pledged “Wager £10, Receive £30 in Complimentary Wagers,” lacked the purported transparency. It became evident that the proposition was exclusively available to entirely new participants within the ProgressPlay network, a platform accommodating numerous gaming websites, including Jeffbet. A user, unfamiliar with Jeffbet but acquainted with the network, encountered difficulties and cried foul. The ASA concurred with the user, deeming the “new players only” aspect deceptive. They opined that the advertisement should have exhibited greater clarity regarding the eligibility criteria for the bonus.

A Jeffbet promotional campaign was deemed deceptive and subsequently removed. The offer, targeted at first-time users, was found to be inaccurate and violated advertising regulations. The company has been instructed to remove the advertisement and ensure future offers have transparent terms and conditions to prevent any confusion.

On another note, the Swedish government is considering closing the doors of Casino Cosmopol, a land-based gambling establishment, due to its financial difficulties.
