Aristocrat Leisure Reports Soaring Revenue and Profit in H1 2022

Australian gaming powerhouse, Aristocrat Leisure Limited, announced impressive results for the initial six months of its 2022 fiscal year. Revenue surged by 23%, reaching AU$2.75 billion (roughly US$1.92 billion) in the period ending March 31, 2022. This upswing was driven by solid performance across both its physical and online gaming segments.

Profitability demonstrated even greater strength. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) climbed by 30% to AU$970.3 million, translating to a 1.9 percentage point expansion in EBITDA margin to 35.3%. The firm emphasized substantial growth in its Pixel United social gaming unit and its conventional casino machine sales, which were positively impacted by the relaxation of Covid-19 limitations.

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director Trevor Croker remarked on the company’s adaptability and strategic allocations in personnel, technology, and product innovation, which have enabled Aristocrat to secure market position and generate substantial revenue and profit increases. He conveyed optimism in the company’s future growth path despite the complex global landscape.

We were strongly focused on growing our paid gaming platform, both through internal development and acquisitions. The objective is to bring our already successful offerings to a wider audience globally. Our ambition is to become the leader in the international online wagering arena, and we aim to introduce internet-based gaming products in a pair of new American markets by the close of 2022.”
